ariel7303 Posted January 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Does anyone know... if your car was damaged by a hurricane while it was in the port's parking garage... Would that be covered under trip insurance or would it be up to the Car Insurance? I am guessing that all policies are different and I need to check that out myself. But I didn't know if anyone had any experience with this?
willysgrandma Posted January 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Trip insurance covers you if you can't cruise or if something happens to you on the cruise or vacation, not a car parked in a garage. You need to check your car insurance policy.
springtxbill Posted January 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Should be the car policy.:)
zqvol Posted January 17, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Probably car, BUT maybe homeowners. As you say they are all different. check with your agent, but don't waste time. Claims that are not promptly files can be denied.
cruiseco Posted January 18, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 18, 2007 Many travel insurance plans do in fact include a comprehensive RENTAL car damage benefit -- usually $25,000 but some go as high as $50,000. But if your post is referring to your own personal vehicle you'll have to deal with your own auto insurance carrier.
