twojays Posted January 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2007 We are on the Star in February - first time on a Princess cruise. Is there a drinks package that anyone thinks is worth purchasing in advance? (e.g. bottles of wine and/or water ) Thanks for any advice.
Toto2Kansas Posted January 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2007 Princess offers a coffee card and a soda sticker that can be purchased. The coffee card is for a limited number of specialty coffees and the soda card is for unlimited foutain soda. Other than that, NO, there are no drink or wine packages offered on Princess. cherylandtk Posted January 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2007 The only "package" on Princess might be the Bucket of Beer-purchase 5 for the price of 4. But its only for beer, not mixed drinks.
dsfitz Posted January 17, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2007 You can also bring along as much bottled water as you can carry with you onboard (and any other non-alcoholic drink). You can bring one bottle of wine per princess policy, but many report that they look other way if you bring more.

dennbr9 Posted January 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted January 18, 2007 Although they have no Drinks packages on Liquor and wine, the prices are lower than on RCI or Celebrity, especially on the wine.

I was just researching this when I saw the question posted. I'm trying to find out if juice is included with the soda sticker? TIA. :)
cherylandtk Posted January 18, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 18, 2007 The soda card does not include juice; fountain drinks only (cola, soda water, Ginger ale and Sprite, as I recall)
MattInFLL Posted January 18, 2007 #10 Share Posted January 18, 2007 Drink prices are lower, but they also have "measured pour" gadgets...whereas on other cruise lines that free pour you can definitely get more bang for your buck and not have to order as many drinks... at least in my experience. goldens4ever Posted January 20, 2007 #11 Share Posted January 20, 2007 We have brought some of our own for years. I usually put some vodka and rum in water bottles and bring along some mixers. Put everything in ziploc baggies and off we go. We have happy hour in our cabin....that doesn't mean that we don't spend our fair share $ in the lounges and on deck...we do...but it is nice to have a pre-dinner drink in our cabin. Works for us....
