Anyone has photos of Cabin 7445? Aft with wrap around deck. My sister and I have her booked for our September 2010 cruise. I hear there is no couch, ouch! But the flip side is that I do have an Aft Cabin. And what is this about the twin beds being pushed together because of space, or lack of it? PHOTOS PLEASE! Edited September 21, 2009 by lady_cruiser

I need to ask recent cruisers on Conquest if they had any problems with smoking. I am VERY allergic to cigarette smoke and my sister is asthmatic, so we need to know if there is smoking all over the ship or is it confined to certain areas? I know Carnival's policy is to have particular lounges, the casino, and certain areas on deck for smokers, but do most adhere to the policy?
If the majority of smokers limit themselves to the assigned areas, we can just avoid them. If it turns out that the limitations aren't enforced and people smoke where ever they want, we will have to cancel our cruise. Our health is far more important than a vacation.

It's my understanding that you are allowed to smoke on the balcony and that's the reason a number of people purchase a balcony room.

I got one of the aft balconies for both the view as well as the hope that any potential smoke would go "downwind" away from the ship, but we'll see...

Those new smoking policies are only on the Carnival Dream.

I have never seen anyone smoking in an area where it wasn't allowed. Certain bars, especially the piano bar, and the casino can be pretty smokey.

Thanks for clearing that up. I am a non-smoker so I don't always read all the posts on smoking. If I am in a lounge or the casino and the person next to me lights up and starts smoking I just smile at them, say excuse me and leave.

The Lido buffet (Cezanne Restaurant) serves dinner every night and is included in your cruise fare. You can order food through room service 24/7. The food is included in your fare but you tip the room service waiter. Pizza is available 24/7, you can order a pie if you like. You can eat it on the Lido or bring it back to your cabin. The only food you pay extra for is in [B]The Pointe[/B] supper club. Dinner here costs $30 plus tip and is by reservation only, and you pay for specialty coffees and desserts at the specialty coffee bar on the Promenade deck. Desserts and coffee are included in your fare at the other dining venues.

I heard and read here that the mayan ruins are a waste. Can you suggest some of the better ones? My MIL has had a stroke and cannot tolerate the heat real well, or humidity. I don't think a hot stinky bus is going to be a good idea. But we dont want to do anything on our own for fear of missing the boat. Money is also an issue.

I have 7440 booked right now for spring break 2010 (port version of what you have) and have found a few pics around. Everything I heard about these rooms is really good. Hopefully these pics will show you what you're looking for. Yes, it looks like there is no couch, but with all the deck space, who wants to stay in the room anyway.

[SIZE=4][COLOR=indigo]You are really limiting yourself by only doing Carnival excursions. Nachi Cocum (spelling?) is an "all-inclusive" in Cozumel. Very nice and relaxing and a short taxi ride to the resort. [/COLOR][/SIZE]

Hire a taxi at the pier. Negotiate the price before entering the cab and make sure it has working air conditioning. This way, you can tour the island, making stops as you please!

Thanks for the link. I just talked with my Carnival PVP and she checked her maniest and no couch but as you said its worth the price of no couch just to have a wrap around balcony PLUS the view we'll see.

We did Sunset Beach and it was AWESOME, the kids loved it, I loved the rum, and though it was cloudy and the water wasn't clear we had a GREAT time!!! DO SUNSET!!! In Coz we did Nachi Cocum and it was GREAT. My 3 year old played on the beach and my 8 year old snorkeled. The water was calm and clear, the beach was clean and NOT CROWDED! I thought it was a GREAT time because it was all about us being together on a beach and less about constant entertainment. It was $49 for adults (all food/drinks included) and my son was $12 and he got food/drinks, too. My daughter was free. They loved all the frozen drinks at Sunset and Nachi and got as many as they wanted. I highly recommend both beach breaks!!! (If your kids are older and want to play on all the stuff, though, Paradise may be better for you in Coz... I've heard only good things about it and I do NOT think it would be too similar to Sunset Beach).

The casino is very smoky... it makes my eyes water. Other than that, though, I didn't have a problem with it at all... it seemed like they all stayed on the opposite side of the ship (was it port and I was aft? -- dunno) I was in 1052 and stayed on that side of the ship and had NO problems at all (except in the casino where I expected it). I never noticed anyone smoking elsewhere, even my husband, who smokes, had no problem finding a place to smoke and keeping to those places. (Now he has electronic cigarettes so it doesn't matter anyway)! Maybe one day everyone will go to those!

Just another Kudos for Camp Carnival. My 8 yo and 2 yo attended. No problems. DD 8 did not want to hang with us at all. DD2 cried day 1 and some of 2, but they were very kind in working with us. After day 2, all she talked about was camp

 

 

My 3 yr old DD and 8 yr old DS had a WONDERFUL time at CC -- my 3 yr old sometimes was really excited and sometimes would get all dressed up (like for the Princess Party) and then change her mind... we're easy going enough that it didn't really matter. We loved when they went to camp though and we got "grownup" time... we highly recommend the pajama parties at night for a few hours of grownup hot tub time or casino time -- we did that nearly every night!!! We'd take them up in their PJs and pick them up around 11. We took naps every day during the mid-day CC break time so they were fine to be up a little later anyway. We'd go get pizza and ice cream, hang out for a bit and go to bed around 12am! (At home they go to bed at 8.30 every night :) -- we had a wonderful time and I can't imagine doing it any differently when we go next year!!!
