Joby Posted January 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2007 We've also had a change with our guide, Royston, on St. Kitts now. His A/C is broken and everyone says our 77 yr. old frail Mom should definately have A/C. I've had all of our tours set up for 3 months and just 3 days ago found out changes on St. Kitts and Dominica and a slight bobble (now fixed) on Grenada! I've posted on the St. Kitts board and found info on: Thenford Gray--already booked Clement Richardson--no response Rose of Jim & Rose Taxi Tours--no response Annies Tours--no response Socrates Hodge--too expensive ($25/hour for 9 hr = $225) Can anyone give us some first hand recommendations to set up a guide today? We want to tour the whole day and snorkel. We leave Sunday!!!!
chrysalis Posted January 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2007 at this late date, I would line up a tour with one of the many drivers who will be at the pier. Lot's of people do that very successfully.
joek Posted January 19, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Have you read the posts in Ports of Call/St. Kitts? I saw a review of a tour with Ilva Wallace.

Many of the drivers had A/C vans, we just opted for open-sides because we prefer it for taking photos.
Joby Posted January 19, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted January 19, 2007 I am so paranoid about not having a pre-booked tour guide. I am a worrier and we are also traveling with our Mom who is older and frail. How can I tell if a guide is going to be good? Just by his/her friendliness? What if they are friendly before to get our businees and then do a crappy job with the tour? It may be our only visit to St. Kitts and we want it to be wonderful.
