Will low Riveria deck 1 be a bad location? Thanks!!! 1. Yes on the Robes 2. Razors, Toothpaste, Mouthwash, some coupons, hair gel, shoe shine kit. 3. No. Riveria is close to exiting the ship while in ports. Also since it sits low on the ship you will feel less movement. Fred
RoyalTraveler Posted January 19, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted January 19, 2007 :) You are awesome! How early do you think we would be able to embark? Are they very strict on Valor @ alcohol in checked luggage? Wish you were going on OUR cruise!

Wish you were going on OUR cruise! You can start embarking around 11ish, You can only carry on 2 bottles of Wine onboard. You can take a chance with Smuggling Booze via your Checked Luggage but run a chance of it breaking and messing up your clothing. Some Checked Luggage are checked. I will post some links to alot of info about Miami and the Valor. Fred

Will low Riveria deck 1 be a bad location? Thanks!!! Enjoy the Valor. She's a great ship. Sailed her first in late November, 2006 and will be on her again in late April, 2007. Regarding your amenity basket. The samples are nice but don't get your hopes up for anything really earth shaking. If you draw the Washington Dining room for dinner seating - you will thoroughly enjoy Mr. V., the Maitre' D. He's a great guy with lots of energy. 5forcruise Posted January 20, 2007 #15 Share Posted January 20, 2007 Hey Wennfred, thanks for putting all these links in one place again. I absolutely loved reading your posts last year as we anticipated our Western Caribbean Valor Cruise in Oct '06. Loved it so much we just booked again for the Eastern Caribbean in Oct '07. Counting down the days again. OP you will love the Valor, as far as the booze, I wrapped in bubble wrap and bought the giant ziploc bags to get a couple bottles of wine in and had no problems at all. As far as the amenity basket, we didnt use a single thing, its very random as to whats in it, I cant even remember what it was but its nothing special. Jenna1983 Posted January 20, 2007 #18 Share Posted January 20, 2007 I was just on the Valor last week. The amenity basket had a woman's disposable razor, crest toothpaste samples, dentyne ice mints, two packets of Emergen-C, Sea breeze moisturizer & cleanser x 2, nivea moisturizer. That was it! Are they very strict on Valor @ alcohol in checked luggage? Wish you were going on OUR cruise! Just off the Valor Dec. 24th sailing. We brought on 6 bottles of wine in a carry on bag and it was no problem. You will have a great time on this ship. The fish dishes in the dining room were great and try Scarletts, you will love it. Have some fun for me.
lappy22 Posted January 20, 2007 #20 Share Posted January 20, 2007 On our cruise last month, a box of Just for Men hair color treatment was with the amenity basket in all our rooms. At first I thought it was left behind from the previous cruiser, but they were in all of our rooms. What's next, *****? We all had a good laugh with it. As for the Valor, it is beautiful. I was a little freaked out when we first got on the ship. The face designs of all the heros in the lobby are a bit scary at first. But by the second day, I loved sitting in the lobby and enjoying a cocktail, staring at those beautiful faces waiting for the dining rooms to open. As for emarkation, early registration starts at 10am and ends at 11am. They closed it right in front of us. It didn't matter because we all ended up in the same waiting area until they let us on the ship which was at 11:45 am.
badissa Posted January 22, 2007 #21 Share Posted January 22, 2007 I can't comment on the deck location but due to the intensity of the ports, Riviera deck has to be convienient. If you can swing somehow VIP embarkation hook it up, we had it, got there at noon and breezed by 2000 people in 10 min. Very nice feature. You'll have a great trip. As far as booze goes, I brought 3 bottles of absolut in my checked luggage. No problem. Just to let you know, the stateroom service booze is CHEAP!! and all top shelf, so order when you get on the ship, I wish I had!
