LHP Posted January 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2007 Our October cruise is going to have one day in Boston and my 15 year old (special needs son) really wants to see where the Boston Red Soxs do their "magic" (as he calls it). Does anyone know if it is a reasonable taxi cab fare away or far away from the pier?? Thanks!
Nitemare Posted January 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2007 Probably a $25 taxi ride each way. See if your ship is doing an excursion which includes a tour of Fenway, or sign up for one at the ballpark. Info here The tour is really great, there's not much point in just seeing the outside of the park when the inside has so much history

We are in Boston from 2pm -10pm on a Sunday....so we will get off the ship and grab a taxi first thing and head to Fenway to do the tour! The ship does offer a tour, but it would be $150.00 minimum for the 3 of us and we can grab a taxi round trip for $50.00 and pay $36.00 for 3 to do the tour....so we will just go that route! Sunday tours are from 12-4 PM, so you're going to have to get off the ship soon after docking. You can also take public transportation back to the ship, lessening the cost and exposing you to the "T"...you may even make it back to the ship before she sails. fozzy Posted February 19, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2007 When you take a taxi, make sure they take you by way of Storrow Drive and not thru town. If you go to www.mapquest.com and get directions from Drydock Ave, Boston to Yawkey Way, Boston it'll show you the shortest route. It'll cost you tons more if they take you thru town. Maybe they know an even shorter way, but this way seems the most reasonable. Less than 6 miles.
