Sunbeam56 Posted January 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2007 We are planning to cruise on the Crown Princess next November and we were wondering: if you choose anytime dining, is that the choice you make for the whole cruise, as far as dinner goes? Also, do they have "formal" nights, "casual" nights?
LARGIN Posted January 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2007 Everything in the anytime dining room is identical to the traditional dining room except you can eat anytime between 5 & 10 in the evening. The dress code is identical.
Sunbeam56 Posted January 22, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted January 22, 2007 Thanks for the info. I am really glad that they have the same dress code.
mortysmama Posted January 23, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 23, 2007 If you're not happy with the "anytime" dining experience, you CAN make a standing reservation for a specific table at the same time every nite for the rest of the cruise. They do have certain times where they won't take a reservation...but generally you could make an arrangement that would feel like traditional dining. Happy cruising! paradise4ever Posted January 23, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 23, 2007 Anytime dining does not have the Baked Alaska parade like they do in traditional dining. I've used both and do like traditional better. I've been on both early and late dining and do prefer late dining although we eat early at home. Happy cruising! This may be changing...FWIW, I have seen Patters from December that do not allow a 'standing' reservation for the Anytime rooms, but they do allow you to call every day. Just off the Diamond last week and they allowed us to make a standing reservation for the entire week at the same time, same waiter and same dining room. cherylandtk Posted January 23, 2007 #9 Share Posted January 23, 2007 Just off the Diamond last week and they allowed us to make a standing reservation for the entire week at the same time, same waiter and same dining room.On the Grand, the following appears in the December Patters:"In order for us to accomodate all of our Personal Choice Diners we are unable to offer Standing Reservations in these rooms" I have not seen this mentioned in Patters for other ships yet. Which is why I said it may be changing and added a 'FWIW'... http://www.cruisedailies.com/pics/2215.jpg
Sunbeam56 Posted January 23, 2007 Author #10 Share Posted January 23, 2007 Thank you cherylandtk. Duly noted. Does anyone know when is the busiest time -- between 7pm and 8pm????
cherylandtk Posted January 23, 2007 #11 Share Posted January 23, 2007 In general, and again, this depends entirely on that week's mix of passengers and their choices, the busiest times are from ~6 or 6:30 to ~ 8. On some ships and sailings, they do not allow standing reservations at these hours, on others they do.
