Late October through the Canal input needed

Has anyone cruised from the west coast thru the Panama Canal to either Florida or Puerto Rico late October. I am wondering how smooth I can expect the cruise to be. There is a well priced cruise leaving Oct. 27 from San Diego and arriving San Juan Nov. 10, and one leaving Oct. 18 from SD to Florida. However, I am a bit concerned about that still being in hurricane season. Any input from those who have done this would be much appreciated!
