We were in 2462 last time on Conquest and could feel a vibration all the time in the floors. Didnt notice any motion. I was told before I went that we would only feel the vibration in and out of ports when they turned on the azipods or whatever they are, but we felt it pretty much constantly. Not bad, we got used to it, but be aware you will feel it, or at least we did. We have 2465 coming up that used to be a 1A on Main, and then 6393, mid deck upper as the B2B. So Ill be in more 1As to sleep in after Sept.

Firefly - I booked Conquest 2465 for my October cruise and would love to hear what you thought about it...my son thinks we're in an interior cabin and this was a fairly inexpensive upgrade to get him a window...

We were in Conquest 6363. You could hear every sound from the band below and every syllable that the singer sang. The floor vibrated. Not a good experience. They were able to move us to another cabin but I still do not have happy memories of the Conquest.

you were directly above where they set up a band across from the casino bar- Its not listed on the deck plans which can hurt a lot of people

Hi there! Anyone have any ideas about room #1062 on the Panorama Deck of the Carnival Liberty? We have cabins above and below us but are right across from the elevators. I read someone's post where they were near freight elevators and heard loading/unloading a lot. How do I know if this is a regular elevator or freight?

I THINK that that person was dreaming. THere are no freight elevators onboard. The forward elevators will be used the first day and the last night for getting luggage on and off the ship- But that is over way before midnight.

1062 will be facing a wall. you will need to go out of the cabin and go into the elevator bank there.

I've looked all over for reviews of any of the 1A cabins that are on the back side of the elevators, but can't find anything. Does anyone know about the noise level in these cabins? I'm hoping the wall between the cabin and the elevator is really well soundproofed!

The one I'm looking at is on the Magic, so hopefully it will have all the latest soundproofing.

Alright well that doesn't sound bad! Thanks! Not sure what you mean by facing a wall but I guess I'll figure it out soon :D

My husband and I had 5581 and the kids had 5583. Every night we heard sounds above us like banging, scraping, something rolling across the floor. It happened anytime from 11:30 PM - 2:00 AM. When I called down I was told the area above us was the galley and what I heard must have been the sound of them cleaning up. They said they would check into it but I didn't notice any improvement over the next couple of days.

I know they have to do their jobs and some must be done at night but then they should expect complaints. I'm assuming any cabins in that general area will also hear the same noises.

The ship was full but on the fourth day someone had to leave unexpectedly so we were moved to cabin 10007, which was quiet. We were also given $100 onboard credit so they did alright by us.

I highly recommend booking a room between two floors of cabins. I wish I knew before we made our reservation, but we'll know for next time!

We were very limited in the dates we can sail and the category we wanted, 2A, was totally sold out.

I am prone to motion sickness and as a first-time cruiser I've done plenty of research about avoiding sea sickness. Yes, I'll take Bonine and ginger daily..., but I also wanted to follow CC advice and stay low and close to the middle of the ship. We got the low deck we wanted with cabins above and below, but this cabin is far closer forward than I wanted (right next to the forward elevators about 1/4 back from the front of the ship). It was the farthest back that was still available.

Will we likely feel lots more motion than if we were further back??? Has anyone stayed in this cabin? The S-class cabin thread rated it well, but I'm still uneasy.

We are going to the E. Caribbean in early December so hopefully that will help with calm seas.

Thanks

Hi, Everyone:

Anyone know about having this cabin on Riviera deck of Emerald Princess with Lido deck above? Didn't someone post somewhere that there should be another balcony overhead or there'd be too much sun? It's in the middle of the ship, but it seems a little higher than i've ever been before. Rockier?

Thanks, Jackie

Pizzeria is located above the cabin 8384-- you want to avoid cabins that may be under the kitchens of this area.

It has been reported many times that staying on this deck UNDER the pool area you hear scrapings of chairs. SOme people hear it--some others dont.

SOrry you didnt know.

Next cruise please make sure your cabin is located between decks of cabin space and away frompublic areas.

Hi Serene,

We're looking at Oasis of the Seas and having a hard time picking a stateroom. We know we want an ocean view balcony.

How do you know if there is a restaurant above your cabin? Are you looking at the deck plan, is that how you know? Sorry, newbie here. Also, would you know if the middle of the ship, about the middle deck would be better for motion sickness?

With thanks!! So overwhelming!

is it your first cruise?

google Oasis of the Seas deck plans. open it up and look at the decks- whats above and whats under.

For people who have motion problems--you want low and midship.

the higher you go the more you pay.

(oasis is just too big for me)

I get motion sickness easily too. Someone said to start taking the bonine and ginger two nights before you cruise. I'm going to try this next time, as I got really sick last cruise for 2 days. I'm also bringing the patch, just in case.... Middle usually is best, and low, from what I have heard. Given a choice, I'd much rather be more forward, than more back (aft). Luckily we are smack in the middle for our dream cruise, but higher deck 6, but I prefer to stay mid or higher floor than lower. Good luck.

Has anyone sailed in a C Oceanview category cabin on the very aft of either the Grand or Star Princess ships? We were upgraded to cabin A748 on the Star Princess near the terrace aft pool (Aloha deck). The cabin has 2 portholes rather than a window. Can anyone tell me the pluses, minuses. Thanks.
