Sunday In Monaco ?

Recommended Posts

Sunday is not a shopping day in either Monaco or nearby France. Almost any store worth shopping..will be closed. However..all is not lost if you make your plans fit the day. On Sundays we really like to go to the smaller tourist-oriented towns such as Eze or St Paul de Vence where everything is open for your pleasure. My wife's attitude about Monte Carlo (I agree with her) is that this is a town to be used as a jumping off point for the more interesting places within the region. However..this is just two opinions and I know there are many fans of Monte Carlo.

We were in Monaco last year on a Sunday. We organized with a driver to take us to Eze and St. Paul de Vence. Afterwards he dropped us off at the Palace and went on a tour (really worthwhile). We also went into the Cathedral to see where Princess Grace was buried. I would definitely recommend going to see some of the hilltop towns.

We then walked down the hill to where the tenders were to pick us up. It was a beautiful sunny day and we have fond memories of our time there and our lovely excursion with our driver - Jean Marc.

We had been to Monte Carlo and the area around the Casino before so we were not interested in going to that particular area.
