Bus Transfer from Tampa to Port Canaveral

We are flying into Tampa on Saturday, June 23rd so my children can stay with their sisters while my husband go on The Mariner June 24th. We have to go to a McDonalds in Tampa by 8:45am. on the 24th to catch the bus to take us to the terminal. RCCL said we should get there by 2p.m. Has anyone ever done this? How come it takes so long to get to the terminal, since driving it only takes a couple of hours? Do we also get a return trip to Tampa or do we have to provide our own transportation? It was $120 for the 2 of us.

I'm with the previous poster. Rent a car in Tampa, drop it off in Cape Canaveral. Reverse the process on the return. All the major rental companies run shuttles between their offices and the passenger terminal.

According to MapQuest its about 2 1/4 hours to drive from Tampa to Cape Canaveral. So if you leave around 8:30 am you should be aboard Mariner in plenty of time for lunch in the Windjammer.
