Luggage and HAL @ S.D. pier

Is it possible to drop luggage off at the pier in San Diego and then sight see before checking in on the ship? Our flight is scheduled to arrive at 9 a.m. and we are considering taking the trolley tour of San Diego but would like to avoid carrying our suitcases with us.

Can any recent Oosterdam cruisers help me out?

As passengers will still be getting off the ship at 9 AM, you will not be able to drop off your luggage that early. Probably not until around 10:30 - 11 AM.

Yonnie (KK) is almost there. Security will not let you inside the gates of the Pier until 11:30 AM on embarkation day. Maybe try Lindbergh Field upon your arival. Most airports have luggage lockers that you can rent

Once you board the boat and get your room by say 1 or 2...are you allowed to get off the boat and re-board later ?

We are also arriving at 9 AM in SAN..Anyone have any ideas on where we can store luggage until 11:30, if we can't get to the ship until then...We want to leave the airport but not sure what to do for a couple of hours...?

On several occassions we have have gotten to the pier and were allowed to enter through the gates shortly after 11. We were even on the ship by 11:15!!

 

All depends on how quickly they clear the ship from the previous cruise.

Yes, once you are on the ship, you can get back off and do whatever you want. Just make certain that you are back on by 4 as life boat drill is at 4:15.

Thank you everyone for answering my question. I guess I will be pulling my suitcase behind down the San Diego streets Saturday.
