Birdiegk1 Posted February 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Can anyone tell me what the 'temps' where like on the second day at sea going out from NY and the first day at sea coming back, I just don't know how much warm clothing I'm going to need to pack...........I'm used to sitting by the pool on the first day at sea :) hoping it won't be too cool! Thanks, Gillian
RuthC Posted February 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2007 I found the first and last days at sea to be lovely outside; the second days out/back were very warm. Now, remember, I sailed out in unusually warm weather, but coming back was normal for January. Last March the first day out was nice at sea; second day was hot. Coming back the last day was stormy and cold; the day before was warm. In other words, expect it to be getting nice by the afternoon of the first sea day; not nice by the afternoon of the last sea day (when you're packing anyway). sail7seas Posted February 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Aft pool had loads of people on the first sea day coming back to New York..... Second sea day did not. It was glorious being aboard and a jersey and capri pants kept me very comfortable all day. As Ruth said, our weather on the January 6 Noordam cruise was incredible at 68 degrees the day we boarded. As I recall, we had our meet and greet the first morning at around 11 A.M., had our lunch and then DH and I walked Promenade Deck laps so it had to have been reasonably warm. jeffs55 Posted February 8, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2007 On the Jan 17 cruise it was quite cold when we left NYC. First day at sea was in the sixties, as I recall. By 2nd day it was 80 degrees in the early afternoon.
