Group of 4 on land--2 more will meet us for cruise portion making us an instant 6! ages range 14 to 52-all love wildlife-and Mother Nature--will have 2 nights (June 12 and 13) in Fairbanks-going on Riverboat cruise and ElDorado Gold mine-will have very little free time-then going by train for 2 nights (june 14 and 15)in Denali-will have free time on arrival day-any suggestions for our free time?-next AM we will go on Tundra Wilderness Tour-any suggestions for dinner that evening? In the AM (June 16)we will board Princess train to Whittier for 7 day southbound to Vancover-Skagway (June19)is 1st port-we have a van reserved from Sourdough Rentals-any suggestions for lunch? We are going to the lake and into Yukon. Any tips or suggestions for our day? Port #2-(June 20)Juneau- van reserved from Rent a Wreck-would like to know of any dog sledding available to those on their own-not a cruise ship tour-we have a 14 yr old that would lke to experience this. We went to Hawaii for 14 days and saw tons of whales-both from our condo balcony and a whale watch-should we do a whale watch here or is it basically same behaviors etc.? port#3 (June 21) Ketchikan-ready for suggestions-not heavy duty activity-something that perhaps 14 to 52 yr olds would enjoy together. I appreciate any and all advice and hints.

At the least, take a look at the Denali Park visitor center and see if any ranger activites are of interest?? Sled dog demo?? listing when the season starts- http://www.nps.gov/dena

In Carcross, you can stop at Caribou Crossing- they have sled dogs and cart rides. http://www.cariboucrossing.ca/

You would be seeing the same whales, if not of interest, choose something else. Have a route and driving plan. Plenty to see and do. Chapel on the Lake at Alaska U, Mendenhall Glacier, Shrine of St. Theresa, Alaska Brewery, Glacier Gardens, Hatchery, Douglas Island, etc request their visitor guide http://www.traveljuneau.com

Be CERTAIN to print out Murray's road guide for the South Klondike Highway http://www.explorenorth.com for your Skagway drive.

Plenty to also do in Ketchikan, look over a shore excursion list for ideas, request their visitor guide http://www.visit-ketchikan.com Flightseeing Misty Fjords is my top choice.
