cyscopup Posted February 14, 2007 #27 Share Posted February 14, 2007 I have a snow shovel in my garage if you need it. The only thing is you would have to come get it, we don't deliver!:D Since we moved west we don't miss the snow one bit. However the weatherpeople say this year has been the coldest in Phoenix in 20+ years, and trust me my palm trees show it. I don't think palm trees were made for cold weather. Stay warm.....

flyers10 Posted February 14, 2007 #31 Share Posted February 14, 2007 We are doing the 11 nights on the Empress of the Seas March 26th. Trying to figure out what would be a good night to make reservations at Portofino's. We don't want to miss something good in the dining room. Any suggestions. Spanky My Posted February 15, 2007 Author #32 Share Posted February 15, 2007 Royston vehicle was not in the greatest of shape. That said he took us places to snorkel no one else would go and he is a very nice individual.I would use him again in St kitts FOR SURE if we go back. Just wanted folks to know if you are expecting a nice well maintained vehicle you maybe disappointed. But it worked fine for our needs. You will enjoy Royston I do believe. Cannot help you folks much on the murder mystery, we did not go just saw the ad and talked to some folks the next day that enjoyed it. As to a night for portifino's well I thought the menu's in the dining room each night had a pretty good selection of food. I think the last formal night was the lobster. So just pick a day and enjoy it..

txcrsr Posted February 17, 2007 #37 Share Posted February 17, 2007 DH and I have started packing for our 2/26 cruise, and I have some questions before we leave. (1) Since the ship is scheduled to sail at 8:00 p.m., when is the muster drill? (2) Is there a special sail-away party for C & A Diamond-level members? If so, when and where? (3) What are the dining room theme and menu choices on the night after leaving St. Lucia? It is our anniversary and I was thinking of booking Portofino's unless there is something spectacular going on in the dining room. I am assuming that since it is a casual night, it will be a good night to make a reservation. (4) Have any of you had Gary Garcia as your dining room waiter? He was recommended to us by our waiter aboard Freedom, who was formerly assigned to Empress. I am wondering if it is worth requesting a table in his section. (5) Is there a special C & A brunch on one of the sea days? We took an 11-day Panama Canal cruise a couple of years ago aboard Splendour, and there was a champagne brunch that served fabulous food for C & A members. Just wondering. And I always appreciate all of the advice and comments.
Luweez Posted February 18, 2007 #38 Share Posted February 18, 2007 I wanted to thank you for offerring to answer Empress questions, as there seems to be much less info on these boards than there is for the bigger ships. I am sailing to the Southern Carib. on March 12th. Can you tell us anything about your excursions? How about the age range on board? Did you happen to save your Compass? glad to hear you enjoyed yourself and thanks again.
wolfcathorse Posted February 18, 2007 #39 Share Posted February 18, 2007 Who was your captain? I haven't updated the Current Captain thread for Empress since the beginning of December
Spanky My Posted February 18, 2007 Author #40 Share Posted February 18, 2007 The Capatain was Gunnar Todal. Yes I saved my comapasses . The range of ages I would guess were folks mainly 45 to 70 . Not very many kids at all. We did not take any ship excursions. I think I posted what we did on page 1 of this thread. Muster drill was ta 5:30 pm. Not sure about the Crown and Anchor events. We are members but did not attend any gatherings. St Lucia was a Casual night and as I recall just a typical menu nothing too special. Our waiter was Amanda from Trinadad.
