Car rental near Diamond Princess pier?

Can anyone tell me if (and the name) there is a car rental company near the pier in San Pedro (Diamond Princess pier). Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enterprise is the car rental company. You can rent a car at LAX and drop it off at the pier. There is a 25$ drop off fee.

The office is right across the road from the pier! One thing to remember is that the office closes at noon on Saturdays. They will shuttle you over / pick you up at the pier. Because of all the folks getting off and renting cars, and others turning theirs in, it is busy (somewhat disorganized) :confused: BUT my experience was they didn't close up shop until everyone was taken care of.:)

 

I have rented cars from Orange County and Long Beach airports and turned them in there, too --- very handy and worth the drop fee, considering the cost of taxis and shuttles.

If you speak with an Enterprise manager at LAX (if that is where you rent the car) and tell them you are a cruise ship passenger they will not charge the drop fee. :)

 

They will not deal with any changes at the San Pedro office.

 

You can walk back to the ship or they will take you.

colo cruiser- do you have to talk to the enterprise manager ahead of time or when you pick up the car?? Would love to see that drop off fee waved. How about picking up a car at the pier at the end of the cruise - any deals there??

Thanks for all the info! We would be getting the car after we return to San Pedro. Our flight home doesn't take off until mid-night, so we want to spend the day checking out L.A.

 

Would we still arrange the rental at the airport? Or wait and do it at the pier once we return???

The drop off fee for us was quoted at $40. This is to pick-up after the cruise at San Pedro and drop off at Long Beach airport. I assume the drop off fee may vary by airport.

If you can't get that waived, take a cab from the ship to Long Beach airport and rent there. No drop off fee, and the cab can't be more than $20.
