Actually, the season starts June 1st. and runs through Nov 30th. We've had nothing so far this year in the Atlantic/Caribbean.......

Mother Nature just doing her thing.

Don't worry too much. We've sailed often in September and skirted around several hurricanes. The Captain does a wonderful job of keeping the ship in calm waters away from the storm. We've missed a port or two because of storms, but otherwise, sailings during hurricane season can be a great bargain!

go to www.stormcarib.com for the best weather updates regarding the caribbean/atlantic.

Being on a cruise, you will be diverted. Last year we went to Anguilla for 12 days in November and there was a "freak storm" that covered the entire caribbean. It rained...no downpoured for the entire time... I think PuertoRico got 26 inches of rain. The beach in front of our resort, Cap Juluca was completely gone, everything was flooded. There was nothing to do and no where to go we just thought of the $13,000.00 rained out "vacation". We stood on our baclony and saw some cruise ships in the harbor just off St. Martin...so ok the weather completely horrible, but at least they could still have fun...the rooms were dry, there was entertainment, fun people a casino..etc.. I could not even get dressed for dinner or dry my hair...it was so wet and humid the water had no where to go and the A/c could not dry the air...even our clothes were damp.

What a nightmare...our next vacation was a cruise:) and it was great!

It will be a bit of time before we return to Cap Juluca that's for sure.

Try not to worry, most likely it will be fine.
Last October on our Mexican Riviera cruise a very late season hurricane hit the Cabo area just days before we got there, but the weather for us was perfect. :) The Carnival cruise that left the day before us got diverted to Catalina and San Francisco. We had friends on that ship and though people were disappointed their spirits were high and they had good weather and a great time.

One of the advantages of a moving vacation is the ability to move it out of the way of bad weather!! :)

Relax and set your mind to have a great time wherever you end up! :D

Bobby:

We're leaving Saturday as well (Zenith....you too, or the Horizon?) and I was just now watching the tropical update on TWC. The tropical waves are actually much further south from Bermuda, and I'm thinking we'll be just fine (but then, I'm the eternal optimist!).

Have a great cruise, I know I am!

That's exactly what my mom used to tell me before flying and I couldn't agree more. :)

We fell asleep early after a very busy day in Jamaica with some great snorkeling. Suddenly we are thrown from our bed on the floor near the balcony door. Scared the crap out of us, luckily we both missed the door. Stuff we flying off shelves, the bathroom had stuff all over the floor including water from the toilet that was splashing. Suddenly a voice came over the PA system stating no one was to go on deck or balconies, a hurricane just skirted over Cuba & headed for Grand Cayman as we were almost there. Then he stated folks should go to lounges or just stay in hallway. Trying to walk was a chore, forget the shower we did the tub with water going from side to side.

Actually it was our favorite cruise with all the excitement, Grand Caymen was cancelled as we watched the waves destroying the port area and the Captain did not want to dock due to damage to the ship, so we got back out to sea & dropped anchor, since we were not moving & Jerry & I sat at the balcony door watching the waves hitting our deck (#9) & our furniture was gone from them also.

Dinner was great with no one eating, casino was empty & showroom was all ours!

Remember last year? Bermuda cruisers would head north towards Canada, not south. Last year we were the second sailing back to Bermuda after their hurricane. No flowers, and sandblasted trees. It was pretty sad.
