Rum Point

What is the best way to get there?

You can either rent a car and drive there (about 45 minutes each way) or you can take one of the multitude of excursions (either private or via the ship) that have Rum Point as one of the stops.

Would it be worth while just going there and staying for the day?

Tough to say without knowing you. :) Rum Point is a beach. There's one small gift shop and one beach bar with a lunch menu. There's a company that rents waverunners and such. There's chairs and hammocks. The snorkeling there is pretty good (for a shore snorkel) and the beach is nice to walk along if you get tired of swimming. If that's enough to occupy you for the day, then Rum Point might be a good choice if you're looking for something different than Seven Mile Beach.

What would be the best thing to do in Grand Cayman.

Personally, my two favourite things to do are visiting Stingray City (see other threads in this forum) and Boatswain's Beach (http://www.boatswainsbeach.ky/).

i just went to cayman for the first time, and did the reef, rays, rum point with native ways. it was great. but i imagine you could do rum point on your own and spend a majority of the day there. i could spend the entire day snorkeling from the beach. i have some pics posted on my link.
