Sailing THIS Sunday - quick question!

Recommended Posts

The time has almost arrived! I am leaving for San Juan and the Adventure of the Seas in the wee hours of Saturday morning.:)

I have a question: Will the ship broadcast the Academy Awards on Sunday night?

I think I read somewhere that they were able to broadcast the Super Bowl, and wondered if they would do the same thing for the Oscar's?

Obviously it is not the end of the world if I miss it, but I would like to know who won if at all possible :o

If anyone knows - please respond!

I was on a RCCL ship 2 years ago this week, and they DIDN'T broadcast it, to my knowledge. It may be different now, though, and also may depend on the ship, and whether or not they broadcast it in a bar...

I wouldn't count on it, but you may get lucky. I'd ask the guest services desk upon arrival.

Have fun.:)

Thanks so much for the good wishes - you guys are all so great! :o

I will definitely post when I return, and you can expect, as always an extensive review of my cruise! Of course there will be pictures too!

If anyone wants to know anything specific about the AOS, please post your questions here and I will try to find you the answers! :)

A few years ago we couldn’t get the Baseball World Series on the ship. Plenty of soccer was offered. However, on a recent cruise I found a college football game on at the Sports Lounge.

Check at the desk. With all the satellite broadcasting there’s a good chance that the Awards will be on somewhere on the ship. However, unless you’re up for an award, forget about it and enjoy your cruise.

Hi Robyn,

Fellow torontonian here who will be sailing on the AOS just a couple weeks after you. I would like to know the following if possible- What is the nightlife on the ship like..lets say between the hours of 11 p.m-3a.m- is the nightclub happenin, are the bars busy, casino? How was the entertainment on board- comics, shows etc? and if you booked any non-ship excursions I would like information on how those went and what you would recommend. I see AOS if your favourite ship, I have never sailed with RCC so any "inside scoops" you have reagrding the AOS would also be greatly appreciated. Have a great trip.

Have FUN on your trip...I am jealous of your 2 weeks on AOS!

I can't wait to hear your trip report when you return...but I am most interested in what you do in the ports...I am still looking for good ideas for our trip in August!

Hi there!

I will absolutely let you know of any "insider" information about the AOS. We sailed her last January and had a fantastic time :) So far, the AOS is my favorite ship - great crew, awesome itinerary and phenomenal weather in the southern Caribbean!

I will post a full review upon my return :)

Have a great B2B cruise.

Just a little bit of advice. ;)

Wear your tightest clothes the first week and your loosest clothes the second week. :D :D

Have a blast!!!!!

Alexis - trust me, they will be rolling me off the plank on the 14th day of the cruise! :) UUUGH!

Thanks for your good wishes and for all the sound advice you have given me over the past several months about back to back cruises - I truly appreciate it :)

Hey Robyn, have a wonderful cruise. Wishing you great weather and calm seas.

BTW......isn't there something else you would rather be doing on the cruise instead of watching some awards show????:D ;) :D

Thanks for the good wishes for calm seas.......last year on the AOS, the frst night was SO rough - when we returned to the cabin after dinner, all the drawers were hanging open! I thought we had been robbed!

Have Bonine - WILL CRUISE! :)

Stef - I will take a pic of your GS for sure! I am planning to go to several different cabins early in the morning on turnaround day with my trusty digital camera......and take some pictures! I am hoping to sneak a peek at 1688 which I have booked for next February! :)

Thanks Jim :) I am planning to use the first few day to decompress from all the stresses of every day life.....and then the next 12 days to have as much FUN as humanly possible! :p

I will, as always - post a detailed report of my B2B cruise!

Dear ckrobyn,

You will be more than qualified to give out this B2B information yourself on your return. It is a whole new learning experience. :)

It is also the greatest feeling in the world on "turn-a-round day" when you will be able to stay on and wave bye bye. :D

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)

ckrobyn, have a GREAT time on your cruise!!! FYI several years ago we were sailing on Disney during the Academy awards and they made a HUGE deal out of it. They had Oscar "trivia" games and other stuff all day long and they broadcasted the awards in the big screen cinema! It was a lot of fun!

I am looking forward to 2 solid weeks in your favorite place....The Aft! *sigh* ;)

Hope I really like 1694 :D

I also want to say "thank you" for all of the valuable info you have given me on the aft for both Radiance class and Voyager class - it really helped me make informed decisions!

I will snapping major pics of all aft cabins on turnaround day - and will post on webshots when I return. Maybe you could add them to your already amazing collection!

Considering not too long ago I wasn't even qualified to ask a cruise question....I consider that a compliment! LOL! :p

Less than 24hrs and I will be San Juan bound!
