how crowded?

We were there in Jan with multiple ships... It was a madhouse. It was a rough tender day as well. After a very disppointing excursion (Jolly Roger tram) we had a nice lunch at Bacchus in town--got my husb his cigars at Curchills & tendered back to enjoy the ship... Our table mates went to the beach & said it was Ok--they found a quiet spot away from the crowds. We will be back in April to try a beach & lunch day..will also be a day of many ships---just too crowded to enjoy --seems more like Manhattan...it is always crowded but seem to be getting worse..

We were just there last week, not sure how many ships were there, at least 5 with one of them the Freedom, we were on the navigator. We usually try to get off the ship right away, but had a very late night the night before so didn't get off the ship until 10:00 am.

We had heard to go to the Sea Grapes beach it was suposed to be less crowded than Royal Palms, but that didn't seem the case to us. There were no chairs to be rented anywhere, they were all gone by 10:30 am, no shade, the beach was very narrow, and not that nice. Took 20 minutes at the bar to get a drink.

We stayed until about 1:00 and headed back to town. We were able to get a table at Margaritaville and have lunch, it was very enjoyable.

We typically like to do things on our own, but I suggest doing an excusion on Grand Cayman, we did that last time and it was a much more enjoyable day!
