FSUDAVE Posted February 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2007 Will be in GC for a day off cruise ship on June 10, 2007. We have rented a car and need suggestions on what to see and do. We have previously done the stingrays, hell and turtle farm, so would like to head out to Rum Point and see some other points of interest. Have approximately 6 houes to tour the island. Any suggestions? Thanks for your input!

We have previously done the stingrays, hell and turtle farm, so would like to head out to Rum Point and see some other points of interest. Have approximately 6 houes to tour the island. Any suggestions? Thanks for your input! Does that 6 hours include time spent on rental car pickup/dropoff? If so, then you may not have time to do much more than Rum Point, especially if you want to spend any length of time there. It's 45 minutes each way, and you should allow yourself a bit of leeway in case of traffic on the way back, depending on what day of the week you're there. Time breakdown: 30 min for rental car pickup (allow for a lineup), plus 45 minutes to Rum Point, plus 45 minutes back to town, plus 30 minutes for rental car dropoff = 2.5 hours - that leaves you 2-3 hours for lunch and a swim at Rum Point. Personally, considering the length of the drive out there, I wouldn't spend a shorter amount of time at Rum Point...but that's up to you, I guess... :)

alphakitty Posted March 2, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2007 We've done this before and it's a great day. Once out of Georgetown, there will be almost no traffic. Driving is on the left, but DH managed it just fine. Here are 2 different driving tours listed at Frommer's website. They will give you an idea of time spent and places to see along the way. Hope it helps. :) http://www.frommers.com/destinations/grandcayman/2367024325.html http://www.frommers.com/destinations/grandcayman/2367024326.html
