Taxis at Ft. Lauderdale Port

Our cruise returns 4/8 at 8AM, and we have a 10:55AM flight. We are a group of 5. Will we be able to easily find a cab, or should we make arrangements ahead of time? If so, any recommendations?

With 5 and all that luggage and such an early flight time, I would first go to purser's while on cruise and make sure I am in the first tag color call to disembark and then I would make arrangements ahead of time for transportation to airport which is about 10 minutes normal traffic time away. I would have said go with the cabs that will be waiting if there were only two of you, but with 5, I would pre-plan, but that is just me.

Cabs are a dime a dozen, I'd just disembark, hop in one for the 2.5 mile ride to the airport. Being first off the ship wouldn't hurt though.;)

Do they have mini-van type taxis that will hold five people plus luggage?

Yes they had lots on Wednesday. There were only us and a Princess ship in port so that may make a difference.

It's a metered fare, minimum will be $10 plus tip.

I wouldn't. Port Everglades is the third busiest cruiseport in the country, in December they loaded and unloaded over 40,000 passengers in one day without a hitch. They have it down to a science. You'll be fine. ;)
