Time after tubing for anything else

Is there time left over after tubing with cave-tubing.com or Ex-Stream to do anything else? We'd love to get in some beach or snorkeling time.

Is there much in Belieze right around where we tender in terms of beach or shopping or anything else?

In Belize there are several shops in an outdoor mall right at the port. We did cave-tubing.com, left mid-morning and still had about an hour to shop before we left. I don't think there'd be time to snorkel since you can't just snorkel right by the port like you can in Cayman. And the shopping area has a pharmacy--quite wild because most drugs are available without prescriptions. It's worth peeking in to see people buying extra antibiotics and antidepressants and pain killers at low prices--whatever their heart desires. Most people did structured activities in Belize; it's apparently a fairly dangerous area with heavy drug trafficking, and if you go cave-tubing you'll go past the guard station outside of Belize city where the police have assault rifles and stop most vehicles. I'm pretty daring, but I wouldn't have taken a taxi there or just gone to hang out at a beach. Even our native tour guide talked about how dangerous it could be. It's a fascinating area, just make sure you're with the right people.

There is no beach for snorkeling where the ship tenders or anywhere near, the only snorkeling is out on the cayes, after Cave tubing, you will not have enough time to take the water taxi that far and back.

After our cave tubing excursion, we had about 40 minutes to shop before it was time to tender back.

The whole port area is shops, you can also walk out the back gate to town, there are many venders and the prices are much better.

We got back from our cavetubing.com tour about 2:30, which left about two hours for shopping near the terminal. As stated already, there aren't any beaches on the mainland and you won't have time to get out to the cayes after tubing.

We had a great time on the tubing excursion.
