Dunn's Falls and Bamboo Beach Club thru Carnival

:( I was on the Carnival Imagination last week and booked this tour on line. It was $75 pp, which I thought was steep, but I went for it.

A minibus took us to the Falls about 9 am, less than a 10 minute ride, and we stayed there till about 11. The ticket they gave us to enter the falls showed the price at $15. US dollars are accepted everywhere. The bus dropped us off at the beach, which had a $5 entrance fee. So we were basically paying $55 for the transport and a light lunch given at the beach, which I thought was highly overpriced. My suggestion would be to cab it to the Falls (cabs are at the cruise pier), and walk from the pier to the beach (about a mile) to save yourself alot of money.:(

We're taking the same cruise in June on the Imagination. Just want to go to the beach. I know Carnival is charging $45.00 to go to the Bamboo Beach Club. This is what I'm having trouble with whether to go thur Carnival or on my own.

Perhaps one of the reasons the price was a bit high is it says that you can enjoy an array of unlimited mohitas (sp?), rum punch, beer. That would surely jack the price up.;)

Plus I think I would feel a little less anxious about getting back to the ship on time, etc. if you are with the Carnival excursion. JMO.:)

I read today that some places (Alaska for one) requires ships to disclose the mark up on excursions...then you could make a knowledgeable choice. In Jamaica we will go with the cruise line even if it is overpriced mostly for security reasons.

  • 3 weeks later...

on Carnival's web page they advertise unlimited food and drink and most of the drinks are alcholic. Was the food and drink readily available? I have needy pre-teens and to go somewhere that they can eat and drink as they wish while they play on the beach is what I'm looking for. Is this place like this? They also advertise that you can stay all day and come and go as you please, is this accurate.

Can you stay at the falls as long as you wish if you choose the beach/falls excursion?

Thanks,

Greg
