kuldalai Posted March 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2007 I paln to cruise NCL through the Panama Canal . Their itineraries all specify daylight passage of the Panama Canal. Is there a better direction to traverse the canal and if so why ? Which is better Miami to LA or LA to Miami.
Druke I Posted March 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2007 We've gone both ways through the Panama Canal, and I don't think there is any difference. For us, it was a matter of where it was more convenient to embark/disembark, and the in/between port stops.
Desert Cruizers Posted May 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2007 Like Michael said I would make my decision on where you live and ease of getting home. We are on the West Coast, so wanted to end in Seattle, with a direct flight into our home In So Calif. We did the Ft lauderdale to Seattle, 17 days April 2006 on the Sun Princess, great trip. The Sun Princess was a beautiful ship for her 10 years but her balcony rooms even with a balcony are 179, so recommend a newer ship.
BillB48 Posted May 16, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 16, 2007 I too will echo the previous opinions. The direction of travel through the canal is immaterial, the big factor is how the cruise fits into your travel plans. I would think, (just a guess) it would be easier to get back to Australia from the west coast of the US. In that case a FL to California canal transit may be easier, less change of planes, shorter flight etc. for the return home.
