Tickets for Tender?

Hi, can anyone explain how this works? The last cruise we tendered to Grand Cayman, but I dont remember having to get tickets. Where and when do we get them and what floor is it again that you tender from?

Those that want to get off soon, go to one of the lounges where tickets are distributed. Carnival excursions will get priority.

 

The floor you get off from depends on the ship, but it is always a couple of decks or so down from the Riviera...

:D Carnival now charges $10 a piece for tender tickets, return-fare, that is. ;)

I thought it was $15 dollars for the return ticket........

of all of our cruises, we have only had to tender 3x

 

1. -- at grand cayman (can't remember which ship, prob fascination or imagination) -- don't remember any tickets being given out.

 

2. -- at HMC on fantasy -- no tickets given out for first tender.

 

3. --at HMC on Elation -- tkts given out for first and subsequent tenders in main show lounge (which is general tendering lounge for all who did not have a booked excursion).

be warned -- our fantasy cruise was in july. cd was maraschall(sp?). he is gone. new cd might be giving tkts for 1st tender now.

 

oh -- and fantasy has a new homeport and new itinerary, so i don't know if you'll be going to any ports which require tender.

So far there never has been a line to get off, but we get off pretty early. Iv heard the same thing about going to the lounge or wherever to get tickets, and then they ushered us right on down the stairs to get off the ship without handing out tickets.

 

The line to get tender tickets must be later on in the mid morning.

exact opposite in my experience. it's early -- b/4 they even announce that you may proceed to the lounge to get them (that's why i have recommended in the past that if you want to get off early, and you don't want to wait, get there b/4 the official time).

 

by mid-morning, after most have finished breakfast, it's usually the longest wait. but, i'm sure the reverse is also true -- for those who are in no rush to debark, wait until everyone else has gone, and you'll probably be able to hop right on.

I'm confused, what did we say that you say is the exact opposite. Seems to me we agreed that very early in the morning you can get right off, but mid morning is the longest wait and you may have to get tender tickets.

I must really be communicating poorly or something if folks claim I said the opposite and then it sounds like they agree with me.

 

Iv only tendered twice and never had to get tender tickets, but as I said Im a early riser. I also like to beat the heat and get off while its still cool.

When we tendered (Belize) on the Valor (3/4/07) we were told to line up for tender tickets at Andrew's ("the super shopper") desk which is in the same area as the casino (on that walkway right next to the casino). After getting in line there Ricky, one of the Carnival people, had said if anyone had any early excursions that we should go to the Ivanhoe Theatre. We had booked an excursion with cave-tubing.com... so, we asked him about that telling him it was early (9:15) , but not with Carnival and he still told us to go to the Ivanhoe with the Carnival excursions.
