Hey everyone,

Ive always wondered a few things about world cruises. How does tipping work? In general are the prices the same as a 7 day cruise? Does the charge on board bill get paid monthly or just at the end? If its a one time thing then the bill must be huge! thanks

I have wondered the same thing? When do they charge the on board bills? - end of the cruise in which case you are really in for sticker shock ... :eek: monthly or ?????? :confused: :confused:

I have booked the 2008 World Cruise on the Amsterdam and my travel agent, one who has experience in booking these kinds of long voyages, has told me that the on-board account bill is submitted to the Home Office only at the end of the voyage.

 

I would imagine that one could periodically request--if one were not already provided--a periodic update on one's bill.

I checked this point recently with a UK TA and it's not necessarily the case for Cunard bookings. You may be lucky and find an '0ffer' which includes gratuities, but if not be prepared to pay the going rate during (or at end of) the cruise as part of the onboard account. Most budget for this.
