Fifer Posted May 25, 2007 #26 Share Posted May 25, 2007 BTW Have you thought about next Christmas yet? Malcolm, As we are off on the Autumn Colours trip in September/October, I suspect that will be the limit of the travel budget for this year. So I guess we will have to forego Christmas with the 3000 poinsettias for this year. Gavin

Fifer Posted May 25, 2007 #28 Share Posted May 25, 2007 Thanks Gavin ( great name by the way ) Gavin, I do like the element of exclusivity that comes from having a weird name - at least it was weird in the part of Scotland where I grew up! Fifer Posted May 25, 2007 #29 Share Posted May 25, 2007 Peter, Very interesting! It rather takes the story on from the BBC film. Now we need something on the South Georgia disembarkation process. Gavin

keela1eva2 Posted June 6, 2007 #31 Share Posted June 6, 2007 I sailed on Canberra just after she had a make over after the Falklands War. She sadly is no more. My first time on her was when I returned to the UK after having worked in Australia. This would have been Dec/Jan 64/65 if my memory serves me right. At this time she was a new ship and seemed to be vast. Not by standards now. Sue

I don't have it here (I am at work) but it even has a crew reunion posted! There are complete plans including the bowels of the ship. Lot's of pictures, history, Last voyage saga. and more! Will try to post it when i get home. Karie, who needs to get going before the stores close, or I'llbe having hot dogs for dinner!
