No but I believe RCI recently promoted a female to Captain of one of their ships.

there is a female staff captan with princess, but no captains as of yet.

When we sailed to Alaska on the Star Princess the second in command was a female. She was the officer in charge when we went on our bridge tour.

On our Sea Princess 14-night cruise in February, there was Leanna Welsh, who was the 1st officer. Her duties included being the Senior Officer of the Watch (on a rotating basis).

Thanks for all the replies. With at least two females as second in command, it's only a matter of time before one of breaks the "glass ceiling" and becomes a full captain. I'm sure they'll be a Princess Press Release, etc.

First I had ever heard of a female Captain was when my daughter called from on board RCCL's Monarch of the Seas last night. She and my granddaughter were very surprised to have a female as Captain on their ship! It's a 3-day cruise out of LA.

on our regal cruise last Sept, we managed to visit the Bridge by invitation, the officer of the watch was Claire, very intellligent British gal.
