KarenJune Posted April 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2007 Just returned Sunday from the Explorer of the Seas--room 9390, and it was WONDERFUL! I admit that when we first opened the door I was sort of shocked by how small it was, but later realized it wasn't that much smaller than other rooms in that catagory. ALSO---the balcony was amazing! My friend and I were unanimous that if we went on the Voyager class ships again we would want that exact room, and that anything else would pale in comparison. We didn't have parts of the ship sticking out in front of us and felt like there was barely anything between us and the ocean. Because we were on the corner, we could also see to the side and back, and only had neighbors on one side, instead of two. Thank you so much to Bonnie Voyager, whose advice and pictures helped make our cruise such a great success.:) KarenJune

KarenJune Posted April 11, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted April 11, 2007 Sorry, no pics yet. American Airlines lost our luggage, and we only received it late last night. Have a great cruise! :) Karen
Linecas Posted April 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2007 Yes, we had this room in October. It is an awesome room. I didn't like the fact that you could hear the crew chatting from below. We saw 9392, and that was good also. Glad you enjoyed it. Ronda
KarenJune Posted April 16, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Wow. I never heard anyone chatting from below. As a matter of fact, we hardly ever saw/heard anyone out on their balconies (and we were on ours a lot), and we used to wonder where everyone was. I guess we were lucky! :) Karen
familyofd Posted April 16, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Our group will be around 9354 area so I am glad you liked this part of the ship, I have a question is there direct access from that side of the ship to the upstairs or do you have to take the elevator? another words how did you get to the windjammer is there a pair of steps or do we have to go down to the middle of the ship for the elevator. :) :)
KarenJune Posted April 23, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted April 23, 2007 This is the only "drag" about cabin 9390 on Explorer. (And, maybe it's sister ships as well?) There are no aft elevators or stairs back there, so you have to walk to mid-ship for them. Just before I left, I hurt my knee pretty badly and had a limp, and my friend had double knee surgery pretty recently, so I was sort of worried about the long walk. It turned out to be fine however, and we both appreciated walking off some of the calories. So, even with injuries, we would both book that room again! :)

But it's a great way to get up to the Windjammer. By the time they see you, you've already come out of the stairway into the buffet. BTW, any pics yet? I'll be in 9690 next week.
