Jules7226 Posted April 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 14, 2007 We're taking the Paradise for a 3 day out of Long Beach next month. We are flying into LAX and are trying to figure out the different options for transport to the Harbor. Has anyone done transportation without Carnival and if so which did you use and what was the cost from LAX?? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!:)
silkismom Posted April 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 14, 2007 I'm also wondering which pier the Princess ships use, Long Beach or San Pedro, and the least expensive way from LAX, also how long should I allow to get to the pier?

Splinter Posted April 15, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2007 We have used http://www.supershuttle.com for years for LAX transportation. You can get shared-van (cheapest), exclusive van, or town car through them. They serve all of the LA area, and can provide transport to both ports. You can reserve and pre-pay on-line (optional) so you don't have to pay on that day. This is most strongly recommended for ship to airport, but good for both ways. There is a discount for additional people going to the same location/same stop if you use the shared-van option. Travel time to the ports depends on the time of day and day of the week, but you should plan for at least an hour just in case. With no traffic, once you have loaded the van, the drive is about 25 minutes.
RBS8559 Posted April 15, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2007 We're flying in from Seattle to Long Beach airport on the 22nd. I've heard the Carnival port isn't that far away (from airport). Any suggestions on best way to get to port...taxi, shuttle, etc? Time is not a factor..we arrive early morning. Thanx!:)

Splinter Posted April 16, 2007 #9 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Few airlines go to Long Beach airport, but I suspect if they are flying from Seattle that it is on Alaska. I fly to Seattle from Long Beach in 2 weeks on Alaska.
vjblk Posted April 16, 2007 #10 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Taxi's from Long Beach Airport have flat rates to the cruise terminals. Here's a link to the airport website with information. http://www.longbeach.gov/airport/transport/rentals.asp We flew into Long Beach last year from Seattle. Small airport and not hard to catch ground transport right outside the terminal.

Carnival uses the Long Beach pier. Everyone else (including Princess, which is owned by Carnival) uses San Pedro ...
