disembarking in the alaska ports

I just saw on a thread where someone stated that it takes 2 hours to get off the ship!!! And we need to be on a hour before it leaves!!! Is this correct??? you have got to be joking! My excursions take up most of the time in port and I would like to walk around each port. Please let me know if this is at all true!!

Which ship are you sailing?

We cruised NCL Star last Sept. to Alaska and never had more than a 30 minute delay in getting off the ship. We did not book excursions from the cruiseline and still got off in good time.
