Is it worth saving $15 pp to book outside Carnival?

We booked the Five Star Turtle Encounter on Barbados through Carnival and then found it $15 cheaper booking direct... much smaller difference than the $30 pp on the St. Thomas Champagne Catamaran which we did book independently.

I guess my question would be just how much is it worth to have the guarantee that the ship will wait for you

I always book through the cruise line, I am on holiday and dont want to worry about anything. It takes away the stress. Traffic jams, accidents, boats breaking down just a few things that can land up costing you alot of money by flying to catch the ship at next port if you book independent.
