travellover3 Posted April 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2007 We will be on a post-cruise stay in Vancouver for 3 nights and would like to take a day trip to Butchart Gardens. Not necessarily to the city of Victoria, but if there is a way to see both and spend a reasonable amount of time at Butchart, we'd do that. Are there scheduled tours for that day trip? Will the hotels in Vancouver have information or do you have to set it up yourself on a website. Thanks for any insights.

Luckysll Posted April 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2007 Check out Pacific Coach Lines. They do trips to Butchart Gardens and pick up passengers at a lot of Vancouver hotels. http://www.pacificcoach.com/

cruzingduo Posted April 26, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 26, 2007 do we need to book in advance? We want to take the ferry to Victoria and see the B Gardens and a city tour of Victoria. We will be there for the weekend in June, 2007. I was wondering if we can wait until we get to Vancouver to see the weather or should we do it in advance? Luckysll Posted April 26, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2007 You should be fine making arrangements once you get here. There are tours besides Pacific Coach Lines that do city tours and trips to Butchart Gardens. Right in front of the Empress Hotel (at the Inner Harbouer), you'll find double decker red buses that do these tours and you should be fine walking up and booking something. do we need to book in advance? cruiseryyc Posted April 26, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 26, 2007 Don't plan a trip to Victoria and Butchart Gardens based on the weather in Vancouver as Victoria and Vancouver have completely different weather on the same day. Also, even if it's raining at the Gardens, they supply lovely clear umbrellas free of charge (but please don't take them home with you) and it's a great spot even in the rain. You can take a tour bus right from downtown Vancouver that will take you right onto the ferry and across to Vancouver Island and the Gardens. cruzingduo Posted April 27, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 27, 2007 Going to Victoria, would you suggest doing Buchart Gardens and the museum OR Buchart Gardens and down town Victoria? The excursion will only allow us to do 1 or the other because of the time. Never enough time.
