All I can tell you is "good luck". It was the most ridiculous thing I have ever witnessed on a cruise (the second most was the muster drill...more on that later). Anyway, you are first at the mercy of the immigration officials. They can't get on the ship until it is actually docked. Then you have to deal with the thousands of other guests who must clear (regardless of whether you get off the ship or not, you must clear immigration). The info given to us said that we enter on deck 8 of the Blue Sapphire...this turned out to not be the case and we were instructed to enter on deck 9 of the Blue Sapphire. They also were announcing that the ship would not be cleared and no one could get off until after everyone went through immigration (this turned out not to be true). After waiting for maybe an hour we gave up and went to have lunch. We returned an hour later and the line was still wrapped all around the atrium. Not fun. So I can't really answer your question. Maybe try to be first in line so you can breeze through.

Try to locate your drill area. Once those elevators are shut down, there are a lot of stairs to climb and they are steep and narrow treads on the final trek to the lifeboats. The lifeboats are high up on the ship.

We are sailing the week before Christmas. Get back into Port Canaveral the 24th. About what time were you on the road after disembarking? We are planning to drive back to Pennsylvania to be home for Christmas morning. I know we're looking at about 18 hours and have done the drive a couple of times. We'd just like an idea as to what time we can actually get on the road. Thanks in advance to any replies.

We were on the inagural sailing out of PC on Nov 7th with stops in Nassau, Freeport and HMC.

We used self assist disembarkation, which Carnival is now encouraging, and we are platinum and we were off the ship at 7:44 am and home at 9 am and we used Park n Cruise which is the only way to go as long as Ecstasy remains in "B" terminal, which is not designed for the amount of people sailing on Ecastasy.

If you remain patient it will all work out! Have a WONDERFUL cruise.

+1 on Park N Cruise. SO easy and way less $$$.

My brother will be cruising for the first time on the Ecstasy in January for his honeymoon! I'm putting together a gift basket for him, as well as some tips. I wondered if the Ecstasy was like other Carnival cruises where you can get a free lanyard from the casino right when you board? Didn't know if that should be on my tip list or if I should add a couple to his basket. Thanks in advance!

Sometimes no one is in the casino that early. I'd get a landyard before you go. I take my own hole punch.

New to cruising and don't like cigarette smoking odour. Would you smell smoke from above public smoking areas if out on balcony suite midship on Upper level?

I think not, but I've never booked one of those suites. The smoke shouldn't bother you if you're on a lower deck than the smoker.

If you really can't stand smoke, I'm afraid you might not be gambling much as smoking is allowed in the casino.

From pictures I have seen of the main show lounge it looks like the first floor is flat, with the upper level having a slanted floor.

Is it hard to see on the main floor if you end up with some big-headed person in front of you? How is the seating on the upper level? Which did you prefer and why?

Thanks for the help;);)

I'm confused about the safes on Ecstasy. Carnival.com says Fantasy and Ecstasy have keys, but a post here from Nov 2010 says there is a keypad. Just want to make sure it isn't a magnetic card, in case I don't bring a spare.

I keep an expired card in my wallet to use when there are safes requiring a card to open

Is there any recent cruisers that can chime in on debarkation time at PC? I am working on Monday and would like to get an idea of when I can get off the ship. DW and I will only be bringing one carry-on each so we will do self-assist. Do they really check your floor when "dinging" out?

Thanks for this thread. Looking for current info on this ship. Please post your thoughts, tips, helpful hints on this ship.

Planning to book for 3/21/13, to celebrate DF 40th bday. It will be a group of 4 women.

We sailed Ecstasy last November on her 1st cruise out of PC on the 5 day with Nassau, Freeport and HMC as our ports of call.

We had an inside cabin booked.

We are thrilled to have Ecstasy here in PC as her home port for now as we absolutely love the port of call Half Moon Cay.

Though we prefer the larger ships, the Ecstasy was in great shape and we had a wonderful cruise. So much so we are sailing her again in May 2013 on the 4-day Thurs-Mon sailing with stops in Nassau and Half Moon Cay, this time with a aft balcony cabin.

We don't eat in the dining room so no comments - we've cruised enough that we are "over" the food thing and we find plent of what we need in other food venues on the ship.

You will have a great cruise......there is no such thing as a "bad" cruise, it is all a state of mind.
