Question about the Boards?

When I first post I see I can edit it but I notice after a while the edit button goes away. How long do you have to notice a mistake and edit the post before the edit button is no longer available? Once the edit button disappears is there a way to edit the post or is it like that forever?

You get thirty minutes to edit a post. After that, you can request that the board host delete the post or you can do another post with any corrections. But once the edit button vanishes, only the board host can change it.

Usually, one has only 20 minutes to edit a post although as this FAQ states, the amount of time can be adjusted by the Administrator.

20 minutes -- then it is there forever and for everyone to see. I tend to make mistakes and rarely go back and review what I have written to see if I have made any mistakes.

Many of us are in the same situation - I suffer from happy fingers and get very creative when I type. Don't know how many crusies I've been on. Stuff happens - don't sweat it. No one is going to judge you because of a typo and you can always do a follow up message to correct information.
