Hi Dave - since we'll be boarding the Royal in Barcelona in two weeks we look forward to getting the scoop from you once you've settled in. There's been no reporting - at least on this board -from the ship since she set sail under her new transformation, so we're anxious to hear about the new cuisine, ports of call and any other features of interest. Thanks and have a great cruise!

I will definitely be following your reporting. As you see on my sig line, we're scheduled on the Royal November 4th.

Can someone tell me just what is the history of Royal? A new ship, a refurbished ship ... ???

She is the former Minerva II for Swan Hellenic....was built as an "R" ship...R8 I think

Sistership to the Pacific Princess and Tahitian Princess...built is 2001, I recall

Hi Dave:

Can't wait to read your postings from the Royal. We sail two months from tomorrow on the Royal and have been watching for a "live" thread. Have a good trip to Athens and write when you can. So looking forward to reading your impressions of everything on the ship.

Thanks for checking in on your first day aboard. We're all eagerly waiting for your "Live" reports.

Just an additional thought about not having a sofa. I think the sofas are in the balcony cabin accommodations (and above), not the inside/outsides
