Liberty arrives in Miami

Recommended Posts

There are two places that you can see the Liberty. The first place is South Pointe Park down by South Beach. The second place is Watson Island just off of the MacArthur Causeway. You can Google the maps for these two areas. Last I heard the ship was to arrive sometime between 10 and 11:00 Friday morning but that could change.

Is that the park directly across from the dock? If so, do you think I could get in there? Will it be blocked or too crowded?

I posted this question in another thread, but I'll try again here: what are the odds that I'll be able to see LOS from my oceanfront condo on Singer Island (Palm Beach County)? Do you think it's already passed by?

I highly doubt that it has already passed by. We just disembarked in Bayonne yesterday. I would think that it will take at least 2 days to get there.

Watson Island is directly across from where the Liberty will be docked at RCI's terminal and you should not have any problem driving in and parking. If you go to South Pointe Park, you can park down by Smith and Wolensky. There are meters to plug change into for parking. Both are easy to access.

I doubt you will see it. The only "cruise ship" I ever see out by the Gulf Stream is the gambling ship and that usually sails somewhat south of you, south of Palm Beach, actually. I think Liberty will be farther out in the ocean. That said, I hope you do see it. Wouldn't that be a great treat!!!!

By the way. I trust our heavy surf this week didn't haul away too much of your beach front.

I just took some pictures of LOS from our conference room and posted them here:

Liberty005 is the best one I think. I maxed out the digital zoom and used no flash, so they are a bit grainy.

If you resize them to make them smaller, they look much better - I just don't have the time to do it right now.

Enjoy. :)

These are great. Hope you don't mind if I cleaned this up a bit and uploaded them as attachments.

You might try taking some with the lights off in the conference room - that way you won't get as much reflection of the shades off the window.

Okay... here she is at the dock.....

Was that photo taken from the MIAMI CAMS site? I couldn't move the frame on that camera. The See Miami Live cam is still down but this picture looks like its from the same angle.

The Wachovia cam is not too good, but the 4 Seasons cam is pretty good, you might try that one.
