serene56 Posted May 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 10, 2007 Formal nights will be formal-- jacket and tie will be required. On other nights a pair of dress khacki and a collared shirt.
RCCLismyfav Posted May 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2007 It depends what ship you are on. What ship are you sailing on?
kitty9 Posted May 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2007 If you're on Celebrity, you follow the code of the day, so if it's formal you dress formal and if it's informal/semiformal you dress like that.
Prphan2 Posted May 12, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2007 On the Enchantment last week, my DH wore nice slacks, nice shirt and tie to Chops.
Wadadli1 Posted May 12, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2007 Just follow the dress code. You can find it on the website, and it will be again in your cruise documents. You can't go wrong with following the code! And much less worry...
jacksmom09 Posted May 12, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted May 12, 2007 Thanks for all the input! I am trying to put together a list of things to pack! I have a black suit for my son and husband with 2 shirts and 2 ties for formal nights. So, will a navy blazer work for Chops/Portofinos? Can my son get by with a shirt and tie and my husband in a sport coat?? We do want to be appropriate! So please feel free to comment!:D I am planning on wearing a nice skirt/top. caviargal Posted May 12, 2007 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2007 We dined in Chops and Portofino every night of our honeymoon cruise in December. On formal nights, we dressed formally. The other evenings DH wore a button down shirt or turtleneck and dress slacks, sometimes sport coat. I wore dresses with heels. These are lovely restaurants and most folks made the effort to look nice.:) This has been my experience on many RCI ships over the years as well. Soxfan05 Posted May 13, 2007 #9 Share Posted May 13, 2007 The men in our party wore a jacket and tie, the women wore nice cocktail dresses. Personally, I found the experience at Portofino to be more formal on a "smart casual" night than I found the dining room to be on formal night. The service, food and atmosphere were wonderful. suezyq50 Posted May 21, 2007 #10 Share Posted May 21, 2007 Portfinos is awesome. Be sure to book as soon as you board. We saw a variety of dress. It was a smart casual night. Dress on the reminder card that came to your room states tie and jacket for men. We saw one man in coat and tie wearing sandals. Several had on polo shirts or button down shirts. Some in suits.
