I really like HAL. I took my first HAL cruise in June of this year, and took another one in August. I have other cruises booked for the rest of this year, and 2005, but none of them are HAL, and I am a little bummed about that........Also, HAL is my favorite board.

LOL @ S7S!
Hi,:) I am sailing on the Zuiderdam...what tile are you talking about?
Lois -

After your first cruise w/ HAL, you become a "Mariner" and on subsequent HAL cruises, you'll get nice a little gift on your bed one evening: a Blue & White Delft tile. If you'd like to see what they look like, do a search on eBay for "Holland America Tile" (I can't figure out how to post pictures here - sorry...)

My first HAL cruise was on Statendam, 2001. Our air conditioning didn't work and we were dying of heat... the upside was that hunky Gerard from maintenance came every day much to my daughter's delight.

On day seven someone got off because they had bad asthma and we got moved to their cabin for the last three nights. It was blissfully cool but my daughter missed Gerard and we both missed our wonderful steward, Gumi.

Funny how vividly we always remember our "first," isn't it?

My three tiles (Statendam, Ryndam and Volendam) are at the hutch near the dining room table. I am wearing my Half Moon Cay T-shirt right now. I am happy to say I will soon have another tile, Westerdam, in November.
