Denverite Posted May 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2007 We have tickets for Dancing in the Streets at the Playhouse Theater in London in August on a Monday evening. Any suggestions for a nice restaurant in the area? We are not looking for a multi-course heavy meal, but also not looking for fast food. Nice restaurant or pub--somewhere perhaps not too crowded or somewhere where we could make advance reservations since we need to be at the theater prior to the show to pick up our tickets. Open to any type of food or suggestions. Thanks!

Globaliser Posted May 21, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2007 Any suggestions for a nice restaurant in the area? ... Open to any type of food or suggestions. You're within 15 minutes' walk of literally hundreds of restaurants in Covent Garden and the West End. If you give us a bit of a clue as to what you'd prefer, and the price range, it might be possible to be a bit more specific. A few weeks ago, a friend was staying at a hotel on Northumberland Avenue, just round the corner from the Playhouse. We spent a very long time just trying to decide where to eat. There was too much choice. :)
lord of the seas Posted May 21, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2007 The theatre has a nice restaurant attached - http://www.monplaisir.co.uk/playhouse_theatre.htmJane x Jane, Mon Plaisir is hardly "Attached" to the playhouse Theatre,it is located in Monmouth street which is a good fifteen to twenty minute walk. This is not a good idea if you are having a pre theatre meal as you will be rushing to finish, then have a long walk to the theatre.A taxi is a rare sight at Theatre time as the cabbies like to take a break and have their meal also. The Restaurant at the Royal Horseguards Hotel is the nearest and the food is good. Mon Plaisir is Londons oldest French restaurant and is worth a visit but not to be rushed on a Theatre visit night unless dining afterwards. English Jane Posted May 21, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 21, 2007 Sorry for the confusion - I meant linked with rather than next door but I thought it was just a couple of minutes away.
