TxShipShape Posted May 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2007 Am going the RCL Radance June 1st arriving June 8 (Fri) in Seward. Would like to know if this plan is workable. We have a 1:10 AM (Sat morning) flight out of Anchorage. We plan to spend the day(Fri) in Seward then get on the 6:00pm train to Anchorage which is suppose to get there at 10:25pm. The questions would be; what to do with the luggage during the day at Seward and is the arrival time of the train dependable? Any insight would be helpful. ARRTrain Posted May 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2007 I think the ARR will let you drop your luggage at the Depot. I'm sure someone will post for sure if they will take it.
GlacierLady Posted May 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2007 You can drop your luggage at the depot in the morning. The train is usually within 15 mins of the scheduled time. Extended delays are uncommon but do happen. You have plenty of time to make it to the airport, but I wouldn't waste anytime once arriving at the depot, grab your luggage and hop in one of the taxis that are usually lined up out front. Budget Queen Posted May 22, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2007 The Seward depot opens about 9am and will accept your baggage. But you will have NO access to it until Anchorage, so be certain that you don't need anything. Otherwise, if on a tour, your operator will probably store it for you. You definately need to be well organized at Anchorage, have easy identified luggage, and get in the cab line.
