I too check prices daily, well twice actually just to be sure. I have so far "earned" $100 as well. I have noticed the rates flucuating a bit lately so I really want to be on top of it. My DH thought I was a lunatic for checking every day until I called him at work and told him we earned $100 for my being a lunatic. We have 30+ days until we leave, so I'm going to continue to check until we leave...you never know!

I check everyday too even though there aren't any balconies left in any category and the oceanview cabins are showing $600 more than I am paying for my D1. You just never know what will happen.:p

Exactly! Although the other day I looked and the price was a few hundred more than we paid, the very next day the dropped down to the amount that we had received a credit for. I have also noticed that sometimes it does drop during the day and it's only that way until the evening. I have seen this cruise range from 699 to 949 for the cheap seats, so you never know...I'm hoping for some more drops! I had an acquaintance who said I was cheap for checking the rates because she said we should be happy with what we paid, well $100 was worth it to me to spend 2 minutes twice daily checking rates. This woman has never cruised because her DH's ex wife loved to cruise and they had a bad marriage (makes PERFECT sense), of course this is the same woman who doesn't allow her 8 1/2 year old DS stand to pee because he makes a mess, and is still wiping his hiney when he poops.

Although our LOS nov 24 cruise prices dropped, we booked so early that it is still not lower than what we paid. So no lower fares for us, but I guess we got the lowest fare.... I keep looking too. it also pays to keep looking at the rental car rates too. I have caught many a drop for that and saved there too.

OK.. dumb question.. I am new at all this travel stuff.. I booked everything with a TA from CSAA.. So, if i look on the RC web site and put in my cabin info, if the price is dropped do you think CSAA will honor it? Or am I SOL becuase I didn't book it on my own.. thanks Kat

Nope, the only disadvantage is that you'll have to go through your TA. If the price drops, call your TA and tell them the new price that you saw. They will have to call the cruise line and get it changed for you. But unless it's a greedy TA, they'll do it!

Thanks to the board, I have found two price reductions, called RCI so we have had a total of $200 pp, since I booked our Radiance cruise for Nov. Didn't know this could happen-THANKS CC

I saved $200.00 for my E1 cabin on the Freedom in March. Someone on the Roll Call thread stated the price had dropped so I checked and it had gone down $100.00pp. I called my TA and got the price adjusted. Now when I check it went back up the $100.00pp but only for a triple. If you have just two in the cabin the price is $100.00 for the same E1 catagory. Has anyone seen that before?

about the C&A coupons - aren't they for new bookings only? I always ignore them because i've already booked and they never seem to be for when i am booked.

no, not necessarily. you have ot book between a certian time frame. it will say on the certificates what the rules are for it

is there a way on rccl to save your cruise details that you're checking for price drops so that you don't have to retype all the details in each time?

act like you are going to book a new cruise with that same itinerary and look for the gray button that says SAVE TO MY CRUISES. click on that. then when you want to check, you sign in to your C&A my cruises and click ont he specific date and again act like you are going to book a crusie to check out the pricing.

Yes, but it will be in the form of an on board credit not cash back.

we got a credit to the last credit card used, not OBC.

It also pays to check the senior rate (if someone in the cabin is 55 or older) AND the resident rates.

I am kind of obsessed about checking--check at least a coupel of times a day & now I am reinforced as 1 of you tlkaed about a short window of a price reduction one time:)

It doesn't cost anything but a couple of minutes to check.

Thanks to all of you for passing along the info regarding the price drops and the possibility of getting credit!!!

We booked through RCI, so I gave them a call after checking prices in the website. Sure enough - the price had gone down $100.00 each. They sent us an email within a couple of minutes showing the $200.00 that would be credited to the credit card that we had used to purchase with. Woo Hoo!!! More money to spend on something else.:D

Thanks again,

Trudy
