live4vacation Posted May 24, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2007 We have booked a mini suite on the Emerald deck of the Crown and wondering if we should switch to the Dolphin Deck. I have searched previous posts and read Dolphin is uncovered and Emerald is covered so that is one reason for booking on the Emerald deck. We were not lucky enough to get the last cabin with the huge balcony. :( Are the balconies on Dolphin and Emerald the same size? We are also wondering about the noise from Club Fusion and the motion/noise in the back of the ship. Any experience with these cabins???
stoneharborlady Posted May 24, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 24, 2007 We had 727 on Emerald Deck on sister ship, CB. We loved this location. It is quiet, and not much foot traffic past your door. Odd numbered cabins are further from the Club Fusion stage below, and you will be safe from the noise. 728 and 730 on the CB were the cabins that did hear the noise. We found it so convenient to the Palm dining room, and for zipping up to the Horizon Court/Terrace Pool. I am sure you will enjoy it too. Cannot speak to the size of the balcony on Emerald versus Dolphin, as I have never seen a Dolphin balcony, but know I would not like to be open to those balconies above me. I think you have the best right now!! Karen
dforeigner Posted May 24, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2007 The size is the same. The difference is one is fully exposed while the Emerald ones are totally covered. Here is a picture from taken from above showing all the exposed balconies.

Giorgi-one Posted May 24, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2007 We had the last cabin on Emerald Deck right above the Club Fusion stage. Never heard a sound. We always book cabins in the back of the ship, usually aft balconies, and have never had any problems with motion. Keep the cabin.

Whimsy Posted May 24, 2007 #7 Share Posted May 24, 2007 We loved our Emerald mini suite on our last cruise and I am sure we will love it again on the next cruise. The balconies are covered which give us privacy. I like to have my morning coffee and such out there in my jammies and wouldn't feel comfortable doing that on the Dolphin deck. CruiseNut7 Posted May 24, 2007 #9 Share Posted May 24, 2007 Enjoy your mini-suite ..... they are just the best. :) We've also had mini's on both the Dolphin and Emerald Decks. Both are great, but you do have cover on the Emerald Deck - that's why we booked the Emerald when sailing the British Isles as we anticipated drizzly weather. We did have the last cabin with the double-sized balcony, but you know, we really didn't need all the extra space! Smooth sailing!
