Mykonos FAQ

Recommended Posts

I put my research together from my last Med Cruise and created a FAQ thread that people could add to. I thought I should create similar threads for my upcoming Greek/Turkey ports so will start here with a list of things I have uncovered on these sites.

So hopefully you summer cruisers can add to it on your return from the Greek Isles... tell us what not to miss, the must sees and the don't waste your time sites. Any amazing bargains that are not to be missed or previously undiscovered restaurants.

Things to do

• Check out the Pelicans & Windmills

• Take bus to local beaches (Paradise, Platis Gialos, etc)

• Delos: boats to delos leave every half hour to an hour from the harbor

in mykonos, approx 9am till about 3pm. the boat trip takes about 20

minutes and you can easily spend 2 or 3 hours or more on delos..

• Little Venice

Nikos Taverna is ssssooo wonderfully delicious (and affordable)! Order the seafood pasta. It's to die for! The restaurant is where the pelicans hang out.

We used this option to go independently to Delos because I don't like stomping around with 50 other passengers on a cruise excursion on the guide's schedule. But I do recommend hiring a guide at Delos. In my opinion, it's not worth your time to go stare at a bunch of ruins if you don't understand what you're seeing.

Happy travels,

Donna

Well so much for all my research, when I went in October the whether was so bad we couldn't dock and went straight to Athens and had an extra night there.
