Passport-not here yet-question?

I sent for a renewal of my passport several months ago-in fact 3 months ago. . . Still haven't gotten the new one. . . Am scheduled to go on Mariner on the 24th of June. I used my birth certificate to fill in registration for cruise(whatever you call it) and get my sail pass. If I don't have my passport by the time of sailing will my birth certificate work. According to passport office hotline, they say I don't need it for caribbean unless I'm going to fly. I'm not flying since we're going out of FL. . . any advice I'd appreciate. Should I do everything in my power to get that passport.

Your state issued certified birth certificate is still fine for this year, also make sure you have your photo id and your setsail pass and you are all set to go. Have a great time.
