Things may work our after all...

 

It appears Delta is changing the plane for our MIA-ATL leg to a 757 and it looks to me like it is scheduled to arrive in Terminal A. The same terminal our ATL-YVR flight is supposed to go out of!

 

If my friend AirGorilla sees this post perhaps he can reverify my facts??

Because of the airline schedule change, they may be able to change everything to FLL - without changing the fare. You'd have to request this through the airline, not X.

 

You could try to book the hotel on your own, rather than through X... If you have a stay with X, you could book a night on your own, and have the hotel note your second reservation. They should be able to arrange it so you don't have to change rooms.
