Question About Air Fare

I’m still trying to figure out which cruise to Hawaii to take. I’ve narrowed it down to Celebrity and am looking at the different itineraries available.

How does the airfare work out for the northbound cruises? We’d be flying from Chicago to Honolulu and then Vancouver to Chicago. Would this be two one way tickets or do airlines price this out as a round trip fare?

It would be 2 one way Tickets. Airlines don't gouge you the way they used to. Many times I can find better pricing or times by using 2 different airlines.

The last time I went looking at one way tickets they were twice as much as the round trip. I'll go play with some web sites!

You may want to try ATA Airlines out of Midway to Honolulu. We've flown it to Hawaii quite a few times out of San Francisco.

Check out Southwest to HNL at Midway via ATA ( partners ), then take the train, bus or drive from Vancouver to Seattle and fly back.

 

MDW to HNL is around $300 OW, SEA to MDW is about $100 depending times and days.

 

YVR to SEA varies from car rental to bus, to train..but figure about $50 pp.

If you go to a site like travelocity or orbitz, use the "multiple destination " choice. This is MUCH cheaper than 2 one way tickets (usually)

There have been so many horror stories and bad flight times with ATA that we probably won’t do that. We might use frequent flyer miles with American Airlines. They have a really good flight non-stop to HNL from O’Hare.

The flights round trip to San Diego are really cheap. I’m liking the Hawaii Circle cruise a lot today! :eek:
