scuba in Puerto Vallarta?

How is the diving in Puerto Vallarta? Any recommendations for dive guides?

I'm guessing the diving isn't that great since I'm not getting any responses.

 

Anyone out there been diving in PV?

we vacation in PV each spring. we are new scuba divers and for 2 years have gone with PV adventures. the diving is ok not great...it gets you in the water and breathing bubbles...certainly not the carribean...

No operator recommendations, but the islands just outside the bay are fun.

 

Also shore dives at los arcos are fun and easy.

 

When we were at los arcos there was a place where thousands of little dragon eels filled the bottom. it was an awsome sight. every rock had half an eel coming straight up from it six to eight inches. The more you looked, the more you saw!

 

You can rent gear on the beach by los arcos.

I dove around los arcos a few years back with Chico's dive shop. The diving was only so-so.
