TravelinGrandma Posted June 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2007 I found this site accidentally - don't even remember how - only a month or so ago and have found it to be invaluable! The only other site that I have frequented as often is Slow travel - a great European travel site. My main point here is that I am continually flabbergasted by the signatures that detail 3, 4,or even 5 cruises a year by so many of you!! Obviously you are the experts, and I love all the details you can provide. Perhaps someday I can join the frequent cruiser ranks, but for now thank you for your experience and your sharing of the life at sea! Alaska in September! jhannah Posted June 15, 2007 #5 Share Posted June 15, 2007 Glad you found Cruise Critic. This is a great bunch of frequent cruisers, indeed. But even though you may not consider yourself "frequent," you have cruise experience worth sharing with others. How many notches in one's belt really isn't the point, IMO. Have a great time in the Great Land!

cp556 Posted June 15, 2007 #8 Share Posted June 15, 2007 Grandma-- In return, I'd like to tell you how awed I am that you've cruised some of the irreplaceable Grandes Dames of the Sea: S.S. America - 06/1958 - transAtalantic S.S. Constitution - 06/1961 - transAtalantic Gripsholm - 08/1961 - transAtalantic The France - 06/1963 - transAtlantic Rotterdam - 08/1963 - transAtlantic Leonardo da Vinci - 06/1965 - transAtalantic I am envious of your wonderful experiences aboard these ships..... TravelinGrandma Posted June 16, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted June 16, 2007 Yes, those were great memories! What a way to grow up! I was a teenager on most of those crossings and loved every minute of it - made some great long time friends as well. My older brother once won the fancy hat contest on the Constitution, and I will never forget the large trunk my mother sent ahead with her gowns!
